Once upon a time there was a COWBOY___ who went out into the desert, riding his horse, OLD PAINTBRUSH___. Far off in the distance, he could hear the TIMBER WOLF___. The COWBOY___ made camp and went fast asleep, first making sure OLD PAINTBRUSH___ was secure.

Now, creeping through the desert was CHIEF WOODSKUNK___ riding his mule, SITTING BULL___. He was pursued by the SHERIFF___ and his DEPUTY___. In his pocket, CHIEF WOODSKUNK___ had his trained rattlesnake, EMMA___, who was trained to creep up and bit the COWBOY___ and his horse. While CHIEF WOODSKUNK___ crept up, OLD PAINTBRUSH___ watched the camp, the TIMBER WOLF___ howled, the COWBOY___ snored, and SITTING BULL___ ate cactus.

In the meantime, the SHERIFF___ and his DEPUTY___ sprang their trap. "Halt, you are my prisoner!" shouted the SHERIFF___. The COWBOY___ woke up and mounted his horse, OLD PAINTBRUSH___, which frightened the TIMBER WOLF___ and EMMA___.

Away went old CHIEF WOODSKUNK___ on his faithful mule, SITTING BULL___, and after them went the SHERIFF___, his DEPUTY___, the COWBOY___, and OLD PAINTBRUSH___. But old CHIEF WOODSKUNK___ led them into a blind, and that was the last anybody ever saw of the COWBOY___, OLD PAINTBRUSH___, EMMA___ the rattlesnake, the TIMBER WOLF___, the mule SITTING BULL___, the SHERIFF___, or his DEPUTY___.
