A WISH COME TRUE

BR>
Divide the group into seven smaller groups and assign each group one of the words listed below. Read the story. After each of the words is read pause for the group to make the appropriate response.

CUB SCOUT "Hip, hip, hooray!"
PARROT "Blow me down!"
PIRATE "Walk the plank!"
BEACH "Land ho!"
GENIE "Poof" (swing hands over head)
BOTTLE "Yo ho ho and a bottle of run"
REGATTA Everyone "Ship ahoy!"

Early one day a CUB SCOUT___ stood on the BEACH___ with his sailboat. He was ready to race in the REGATTA___ and was hoping no PIRATE___ would steal his ship. Scanning the BEACH___, the CUB SCOUT___ spotted a large green BOTTLE___ lying in the sand. A PIRATE___ with a PARROT___ also saw the BOTTLE___.

The CUB SCOUT___ and the PIRATE___ with the PARROT___ on his shoulder reached the BOTTLE___ at the same time. Both grabbed for it, but the PIRATE___ slipped, the PARROT___ flew off, and out came a GENIE___ from the BOTTLE___.

"Grant me a wish," cried the CUB SCOUT___. "No grant me one," yelled the PIRATE___. The GENIE___ did not know what to do. Suddenly the PARROT___ landed on the shoulder of the PIRATE___ and said, "Polly wants a cracker."

"Your wish is my command," said the GENIE___. He granted the PARROT'S___ wish, then disappeared into the BOTTLE___, which rolled down the BEACH___ and into the sea. And thus we learn that we first make a wish before it can come true.
